One of the lead actors on Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series was forced to drop the part. Will Poulter pulled out of the show after joining the big-budget series in September. It is said that Poulter had a scheduling conflict which forced him to leave the series.
As of right now we don’t know too much about the character that Poulter was to play, but we do know he was set to play the lead role in the show, which was based off of JRR Tolkien’s novels.
Currently the show still stars Game of Thrones’ Joseph Mawle, who is playing the central villain, plus Markella Kavenagh and Ema Horvath.
Amazon’s Lord of the Rings is set to go into production in 2020 in New Zealand, which is the same location for Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.
The big-budget show is estimated to cost $1bn and is currently being developed by the Star Trek 4 writing team including JD Payne and Patrick McKay, as well as, screenwriting Bryan Cogman who is known for Game of Thrones.
Not much is known about the new Amazon series but it will be set during the Second Age of Middle-Earth and will be a prequel to the events of both the film trilogy and the novels.
