Back in 2015, Aaron Hernandez, an NFL player, was found guilty for killing Odin L. Lloyd. Just two years later, the ex-New England Patriot was found hanging with a bedsheet around his neck tied to a window in his prison cell. Netflix debuted the main trailer for the up and coming true-crime documentary about the then-life, including past crimes, of Aaron Hernandez.
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez, which is a three-part documentary series will be premiering on the 15th of January. The series covers his life since he was an inspired high school football household name to what lead to his eventual, unfortunate suicide in his stay in prison for murder.
From what we saw on the trailer, the documentary series will be shining light on the highest of his highs which was brought to him by his unparalleled talent in football, including the $40 million contract promised by the New England Patriots. With the highest of his highs, comes the lowest as well––succumbing to drugs, abusive and violent life with his family, and of course, the murder of his future brother-in-law.
According to sources from E! News, Hernandez’s fiancee, and the mother of his daughter, has casted doubt on his cause of death. The medical examiner, on the other hand, proved otherwise and deemed that Hernandez’s death was truly a suicide. More of that will be shown during the documentary series, including all the “John 3:16” gospel verse writings on his cell wall and apparently, his head.
His history with the Patriots has been notable, to say the least. Before he was awarded the $40 million dollars, Hernandez boasted of 79 passes in 910 yards and seven touchdowns––enough to help the Patriots reach the Super Bowl, which the Green Bay Packers won. Due to unfortunate events, the Patriots decided to release him 2 years later. This was after he was arrested for the killing of Lloyd.
