Will redemption side with a celebrity who was involved in a career-ending scandal?
Surprisingly, Korean dramas haven’t fully swept Netflix by storm considering it’s one of the best genres to watch if you’re looking for an entertaining time with superb production. Although, I may have the answer to your non-conversion to the genre.
Touch Your Heart was released on Netflix last November 2019 by Studio Dragon. Oh Yoon-Seo, played by the amazing Yoo In-na who absolutely does NOT look 37 at the slightest, is a popular actress in the drama. She is said to be beautiful and charming by her admirers, even dubbed The Universe’s Goddess, but lacks “act” in being an actress. She gets involved in a scandal with the son of a conglomerate and as a result, her acting career slowly dwindles right before her eyes.
Oh Yoon-Seo took notice of a script from a prominent director who’s looking for a lead female role as a secretary for a lawyer. She practically begged for the role and voila! She got it; but with one condition––she has to gain experience for the role first. To do this, Oh Yoon-Seo was directed to a law firm where Kwon Jung-Rok, played by Lee Dong-wook, is an attorney for. Stone-cold, arrogant, and a bit pushy, Jung-Rok was assigned to have Yoon-Seo as his secretary.
What happens next is for you to find out.
If you’re an avid fan of K-dramas, you’re probably familiar with Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook. They’ve also starred in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God or Goblin (which is also on Netflix) where they also played contradicting personalities.
I’d debate that these two dramas are recommended for beginner K-drama enthusiasts and if you’re in for the ride, make sure you’re buckled up for a rollercoaster of emotion and a whole ton of romantic excitements. I’ll see you then, and tell us what you think!
